    The Dance Palace is a non-profit community center providing a wide variety of educational, recreational, cultural and community services to children, adults and seniors in western Marin County.

    The Dance Palace serves as the central community facility for the small, semi-rural coastal villages of West Marin including Point Reyes Station, Inverness, Olema, Nicasio, Marshall, Bolinas and Stinson Beach.

  • A night of music on the African Diaspora in the Americas, as well as a celebration of the poetry of Chilean Nobel Laureate Pablo Neruda.
    Quijeremá, an acclaimed Latin American folk and jazz group, will teach a workshop noon-1:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at Fresno State’s Wahlberg Recital Hall and entertain at a free, public concert at 8 p.m. at the Concert Hall, both in the Music Building. The events will celebrate the poetry of Chilean Nobel laureate and poet Pablo Neruda and music representing the African diaspora in the Americas. The concert is sponsored by the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures and the Department of Music in the College of Arts and Humanities.   • Quijeremá performs Monday (Labor Day) at the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers as part of Quiet Lightning’s monthly, submission-based reading series. Quiet Lighting is one of the newest additions to the stellar ITCH line-up.

    Join us Monday, September 3 on the front lawn of the COF for a free potluck picnic (4:30pm), live music 5pm Ash Reiter and 6pm Quijeremá and a beer garden à la La (made you sing) Lagunitas Brewing Co!

    The first set of readings will be in front of the Conservatory, so bring a light jacket. Then take a 20-minute break to enjoy the building and find a place to absorb the second set, which will take place amongst the potted plants! Come one, come all; we are proud to present to you this month’s verbal acrobatics, framed by the artwork of Todd Brown!
